EcoTrek conducts challenging research expeditions meant to preserve cultural and natural resources. We promote minimally-invasive collection and curation methods that involve local and indigenous groups, so as to best preserve the cultures and ecosystems from which data is being collected. We share our findings freely to motivate further research and to inspire the next generations of scientists, artists and communicators to work together.
EcoTrek believes that Indigenous People can teach us more about their culture and heritage than we can teach them. So, we ask for their permission and guidance before working in their ancestral territories.
